In January 2017, Philadelphia glass artist Jeremy Grant-Levine (aka Germ) began creating 1000 Glass Cranes, an immersive glass installation experience, and the largest borosilicate glass installation on the East Coast. This is the largest project Jeremy has undertaken in his 13 years of blowing glass. It required over 200 pounds of hand-colored glass and over a mile of wire for the final installation.
Jeremy has completely dedicated himself to1000 Glass Cranes over the past two years. Each crane was created by hand with attention to precision and unique characteristics in each piece. Jeremy's clever use of space has created an immersive experience that must be seen to believe.
The opening of 1000 Glass Cranes will happen on Saturday March 30 2019 at 1345 N Front Street in Philadelphia, PA from 5-10pm.
The event is free and open to the public
This project was partially funded with the support of 381 backers through a Kickstarter campaign in Fall 2016.
